Questions 1. What were your VERY FIRST impressions on listening to the album, say from the first five minutes in (first time)?Horror movie/survival game background music. Not really sure what people get out of this kind of music, but hey, what the hell, it might get interesting. 2. Did your first impressions change, i.e., did the album get better or worse as you listened to it (first time)?Nope, it stayed exactly the same level throughout, I thought. I felt like I was waiting for something to happen and the sounds gave me the impression that I hadn't reached the "main" part yet. All the way until the end. 4. What is your favorite track from the album, if you have one?I couldn't really tell where one track ended and the next began, so no. 5. What is your least favorite track from the album, if you have one?I didn't like "Sullen." 7. How would you describe the variety of tracks available on this album? Feel free to be very detailed if you like.Hmm, some tracks do feel lighter than others, like "Logical Singularity." Overall each track presents a different "level" and environment feel, some are more outside and some are inside songs, if that makes sense. 8. What is the overall mood on this album?Dark, lonely & wet. What's interesting is, as an afterthought, I read the album description: "'a rainy summer afternoon' "! There you go. I'd think of it more as a rainy winter night, though. 9. Is this an album you would listen to again all the way through (for personal, recreational use, outside of listening to it for this club), or are there just a few songs that you would listen to?No on both counts. 10. Does this music take you some place? Describe what comes to mind as you listen. Does the song title/album cover/album title relate to what you envisage, if anything?Actually, yes, it took me to something like an abandoned world, or an empty warehouse/department store. Some place creepy where I was the only person for miles and miles. 11. Do you see any way the album could have been improved? Not really, it is what it is and I don't know enough about ambient to suggest a thing. 12. Would you recommend this album to others? Can't think of anyone who would enjoy this off the top of my head. 13. Are you interested in listening to more albums by this band? No, thank you 14. Your overall album rating on a scale of 1-10 4 16. Any other thoughts you had about this album you would like to share? Why do people listen to ambient?! Just to zone out or trip or something? It's nice if you consider it like soundtrack music, it's inoffensive and it suggests something more exciting than the music is happening in the foreground, but?? I don't really get any pleasure from that. Maybe for meditation? |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KGMo9yOaSU It definitely zones me out, but in a way that puts my whole mind at peace. I don't think of it as soundtrack music even though it might seem like that. I just find it remarkably soothing and I can listen to it in any situation, whether I'm working on something and have it on in the background or want to really focus on all the beautiful intricacies of the music.
