My music plate is constantly overflowing, so thoughts like this are really just a way of weeding through what I want or don't want to listen to, since I can't listen to everything. I could have kept that thought to myself, yes, or perhaps found a thread discussing whether artist names or album covers affect my decision to listen to something, which I'm pretty sure exists.

No need to explain. Ignore my babbling. I discriminated against your post (your view) and then waxed on about non-discrimination. haha. I'm but a fool. :)

Arguably the best name for a track ever. It stinks of Zen.

Nothing Is Something Worth Doing

I read in a Simon Posford interview that this track is based on a genuine dimethyltryptamine (DMT) trip he experienced. I've posted the track before, but the video to this one is really good, and matches the vibe of the drug:

Divine Moments of Truth (DMT)

One of my favourite tunes of all time, electronic or otherwise. A must play when you're tripping. The intro gets me every time. Sounds like magic descending from the heavens and saturating your every sinew, your very marrow. Takes me away every time. It's mystical genius:

Ineffable Mysteries

Yeah, Posford is something of a musical genius. Hallucinogen, Shpongle, Younger Brother, The Infinity Project, Beast... no matter what project he works on, he tends to leave magic dust on it, and he's arguably the most creative musician in electronic music. Most artists could and would make an entire album out of the ideas that Posford crams into each and every track. Drug music at it's best (and, if you're too loaded, at it's most frightening too ;)).

I had no idea he had that many projects! I knew about Shpongle, Younger Brother, and Hallucinogen. Looks like I got some new stuff to listen to.

Simon Posford has easily been one of the artists that has influenced me most in my own music.

^ Nice to meet another Posford fan. :) I adore the man and consider him the Beethoven of electronica.

You should also check out 'Purple Om' - his first electronic band which, though lacking in production value, demonstrate that famous Posford touch. Oh and check out 'Celtic Cross' which he collaborated with - a brilliant act with a very original sound.

Celtic Cross - Mundis Imaginalus

He's also collaborated with: Anubis, Audio Chemistry, Axis Mundi, Baba G, Beast, Binah, DSP, Dub Trees, Flight, Fly Agaric, Gargoyles, Growlmonizer, Industrical Suicide Tribe, Infernal Machine, Mandala, Metal Sharon, The Mystery Of The Yeti, Nomads Of Dub, North Central Positronics, Ott, Psykov, Subkha, Twisted Allstars and Frederic Holyszewski.

And has even collaborated with David Gilmore:

Alan Parsons/Simon Posford/David Gilmore - Return To Tunguska

One of the weirdist bands I have ever come across.
