Has anyone ever heard of Bushy?
I just bought his album Hiya on amazon and it has a few really good songs on it, the album is trip-hop and electronica, might be a little bit downtempo.
My absolute favorite song on it is There's A Light, I love this song, Whatever and Never a good too, aside those songs the rest of the album is alright. There's A Light is electronica at it's best. Has anyone ever heard of Bushy? What do think of Hiya? |

Before I read this thread I had never heard of Bushy, but I'm digging his style. On the opening track, "Don't Mind If I Do", he puts a nice twist on the funky downtempo groove with those choppy synth melodies. It made me feel like I was playing 8-bit games at a Parliament-Funkadelic gig; however, that might be my lack of sleep talking. Can't post a link because I need 15 posts, but it's on youtube if anyone cares to back me up on that statement Another track I enjoyed was "Bionic Heart", but I have to agree with you, "There's A Light" stands out from the rest (at least out of the 5 other tracks I listened to) and I'll be adding that track to an ultimate chillaxing playlist so thanks for that one Zenith
I found his style to be reminiscent of another downtempo artist "Mr.Scruff". His song "So Long" feels like it could slip onto "Hiya!" unnoticed, you should check it out. Some other artists you might enjoy: Bonobo (who I just found out did a mix of the song "Never" from Hiya), Quantic, The Herbaliser, and Boozoo Bajou. |
