Default What do you think of Paul Oakenfold?

I'm listening to him for the first time. His song "Starry Eyed Surprise" to be specific. Its got a good catchy feel to it. It's not bad. So what do you think of Paul Oakenfold?

No you certainly cant. I didnt like "starry eyed suprise" that well, i thought it sounded a little to hip-hop, but it wasnt bad.

He's definatley one of the biggest names right now.

I am a big Oakenfold fan...try this one
2 Years of Oakenfold @ Cream, last 15 minutes are a blast!
Tranceport was the first CD I had of his, and am still in awe of it. I have noticed Oakenfold tunes popup in some movie soundtracks, too...dude is getting around. Cool. AND did you know, according to the Guiness Book of World Records, Oakenfold is the most famous DJ in the world.

Yeah, "Starry Eyed Suprise" is a bad example of Oakenfield, especially cuz it has the lead singer from Crazytown doing the vocals. However, example aside, Oakenfield is an EXCELLENT artist. He's also like Crystal Method in that he does a lot of remixes of a lot of songs and they sound awesome. I have a song by The Danse redone by him that I like a lot.

Ditto, but hey! I heard Paul Oakenfold and others will be on Directv for like 20 dollars (bit expensive I think for not being there and just watching on tv), but I wanted to know if others heard of this? Anyone else think some techno is repetative? Trance seems to evolve but techno moreso seems to be really redundant. Any groups that you would recommend that evolve alot and have unique sounds that are catchy?

Hmm well somethimes its hard to differentiate between techno and trance. I'm really more into Trance myself. So I can recommend you an excellent trance group. appropraitley called "art of trance" check out "stealth" or "prana" from them. Excellent stuff.

Paul Oakenfold is ranked among the Electronica Giants like Moby, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, etc. I've never heard of that Direct TV thing before. Do you mean like a whole channel dedicated to that stuff or just a program?

Directv is a satellite here in the US and you can directly buy movies and see them without getting out of ur seat. They have these monthly events or weekly events and this coming month, they are having a rave live I believe. So you can buy the event for like 20 dollars. I dont know how much it costs to go to a rave, but 20 just to watch something is expensive.
