Industrial: essential albums & recommendations
Hi. I like some industrial music but I would like to delve deeper into the genre. What are some quality/essential albums that I should check out?
Thanks in advance. |
it's a pretty large genre with tons of little side genres.....
but in my opinion the 10 essential albums by far would be Coil - Horse Rotovator Skinny Puppy - Bites/Remission SPK - Leichenschrei Throbbing Gristle - Entertainment Through Pain Einstürzende Neubauten - 1/2 Mensch Front 242 - Front By Front Laibach - Nova akropola Dernière Volonté - Devant le miroir Ministry - The Land Of rape and Honey Nitzer Ebb - That Total Age |
I'll add:
G.G.F.H -The Very Beast Of The Damage Manual - S.T Murder Inc. - Locate Subvert Terminate Godflesh - Streetcleaner Not heard of Dernière Volonté. Will be checking them out. |
I'll throw in...
Front Line Assembly– Tactical Neural Implant & Millenium. |
20 Jazz Funk Greats by Throbbing Gristle!!!
What A Day has got to be my favourite industrial song. |

Is there anything by Boyd Rice that would be in this thread? Sure, he may not be the most popular man in the world (I think by choice), but he did do a lot of innovating. Apparently, he was one of the first to use samples and loops (or so what I've read), but is any of it really essential for listening? I only have a few NON albums, they are pretty damn good, but I'm not sure about essential.
