Information on Electronic Music in General
Hello, I am new to somewhat new to electronic music (making it & listening to it) and I would like to ask a few questions:
1: In your opinion what makes a good electronic song? 2: What is your favorite sub-genre? Who is your favorite musician in that genre? 3: Do you/ have you ever made an electronic song yourself?

1. As opposed to a non-electronic song? The production gets more focus. Composition is only half the work. In a non-electronic song, the other half is playing instruments. In an electronic song, the other half is making and altering synths and mastering. In general? Good music. That's really it.
2. I'm pretty dubbed out, and I'm gonna have to go with Skream as my favorite dubstep producer. 3. Kind of. I've made three, but I wouldn't consider any of them complete. One I made early on when I didn't know how to EQ. I'm planning to master it. Two are beats that I'm planing to play guitar over. (Soundcloud link in signature if you're curious).

1. The groove. The pulse. It is essential for dance music.
2. Deep and tech house. Favorite: maybe Terry Lee brown Jr. Or the Timewriter. Or Harley and Muscle. 3. Yes, many of them. I never use samples, I program melodies of my own with a virtual synth. |
