I meant quality wise.
Bob Dylan and RATM are apples and oranges. Folk and metal.
I kept my examples in the electronica category.
Daft Punk and Skrillex have been compared before.

Well go ahead and compare them then. They still strive to do completely dofferent things and ultimately make completely different kinds of music regardless of that ridiculous umbrella that is Electronica so I still don't think it's worthwhile. And quality is in the ear of the beholder. I personally think Skrill's put together some of the best club-style tracks you can get.

Huh, that's a surprisingly respectable conclusion to a discussion about Skrillex.

He is good, but highly overrated. He isn't the only electronic musician out there, but he's the one with all the fans. Frankly, I don't get why people treat him as a god

Skrillex is fucking ****. His sound is terrible, it's like he's trying too hard, I could name a bunch of producers from the Dubstep and Grime scenes far better than him. Terror Danjah for one.

It winds me up when people bad mouth Dubstep because their only idea of Dubstep is the mess Skrillex makes.

I don't know, I think some of the tracks from Scary Monsters EP are still pretty solid. I'd agree his sound on Bangarang declined in quality, but I don't think I'd make a generalized statement that all of his music is terrible. I like this one a lot:

SKRILLEX - Rock N' Roll (Will Take You To The Mountain) - YouTube

What is it that you don't like about him?

OK shit was probably me getting carried away to be fair but he took a few elements of Dubstep and exaggerated them to sound "dirty" or "filthy" to the point it's just unlistenable. Nothing I've heard from him makes me think "yeah fair enough that's kind of unique I can see why he's rated". I didn't really like all the generic wobble tracks ages ago but at least people like True Tiger were alright with it. Don't rate Leaving either, he jumped on Future Garage about as late as he jumped on Dubstep and it wouldn't surprise me if he tried Grime or Funky House next, more dead UK scenes. I wouldn't waste a word on him if he wasn't so overrated. Briks put it very well. Do not rate.
