It's okay and bearable to an extant. I just think it's annoying how he seems to be the 'face of the genre' when it come to mainstream music. There are so many better artists that deserve far more media attention than this guy...
As a whole though, hes not bad. Hes just not very good either. |

I'm not a big fan of Skrillex, I listen to his stuff, only because my brother really likes him, but he's not on my iPod.
I think his rhythm is too random and theres no structure to his music. Dont get me wrong, some songs are pretty good (Cinema, Bangarang, Still Getting It, etc) but some songs aren't great. |

I always get into it with people about Skrillex and its annoying. On one hand I have all my people in the music scene who have been supporting Dubstep (or not depending) for years and they all have their opinion and then all my friends Ive been trying to get out to parties for years and now they wanna go.
This is all I know My husband and I have been in the Drum & Bass and Dubstep scene for a long time. He is a dj and I have had many different positions involved in electronic music, BEFORE Skrillex had gone super mainstream, or really before we knew he did, we liked his stuff, we have seen him at a show too and it was decent. I prefer to go by what I like and obviousley he is no Netsky, Andy C, High Contrast, Sub Focus, Chase and Status, lol |

I don't get the hype.
When I first heard about dubstep it was about slowing down jungle and DnB tracks to the point the bass tone started to wobble then toss in a grimey mc to drop deep sounding lines over top. Now the style just sounds like a perpetual remix of Mr. Oizo's Flat Beat mashed up with some otherwise forgettable girly pop tune. I blame Skrillex for this. |
