Funny video of kids discussing dubstep and Skrillex haha
I'm no fan of Skrillex, but this video is fun.
These cute kids basically talking about dubstep and then dissing skrillex a bit. Good to know the new generation might have some taste after all! Off of the Noisey music website. |

Regarding his new stuff, there are some songs I wouldn't mind hearing at a party or some ****, but a lot of it sounds so similar. I can tell the difference between songs I've heard and those I haven't but I honestly hear the same general **** in each song. At first there was a lot more to it, when he was still going by Sonny Moore but had already been split up from the band. It was more singing, more of him, less of the other **** he's been putting into his music. Idk. I would still probably go to a concert or something for the sake of it, but I'm just realizing he's not really coming out with so much creative ****.

I don't think you can ever dismiss Skrillex, both as a pioneer of a genre and an innovator of sounds, he has his merit musically.
However, I did go to one of his shows recently (my 2nd time seeing him) and was very disappointed with the crowd. It wasn't about the music, it was bros on drugs and alcohol trying to pick up chicks and generally making asses of themselves. But, you can't blame the fans for the music. |
