There is quite a few songs which are better than "Teardrop" on that album. For me, 'Angel' is on a differant level.

I love the way 'Angel' was captured live at Abbey Road it is superb:

Not heard it, but I was rocking to Mezzanine yesterday. Five star album.

I like it, but it's not as good as their other albums, in my opinion. 'Karmacoma' is a great track, one of my MA-favourites, actually, but the others are just... okay. Maybe I haven't listened enough to it, though.
I haven't checked out the remix album. Is it the one by Mad Professor? Should I check it out?

I like Massive Attack. They're the band that got me into trip-hop. I especially like Mezzanine, with it's dark, heavy, distorted sound.

Haven't listened to No Protection, but Protection itself is a great chillout album. Mezzanine might be better but Protection is completely different so comparing them is rather tough.

Have you's heard Zed's ded's remix of Paradise Circus? It's rather sleazy.

Teardrop is an awesome song to get initiated into Massive Attack, and will probably be their signature song forever. But as the others have said, do not ignore their other material.

A better question is: Who doesn't think Mezzanine is their best album?
