Blue Lines is one of my favourite albums. Mezzanine is good too.

YEAH BAND RULES!

This thread should be moved to GENERAL MUSIC. I cannot believe so few people have replied. Massive Attack are so well regarded by fans and critics alike.

Far and away, "Mezzanine" is my favourite album. But toss just about any of their other albums in, and I'll still be as happy as a clam. Even the Unleased/Danny the Dog soundtrack was great!

And because of Tricky's inclusion, I will always hold a special place for those first couple of albums.

Ah, Massive Attack. My parents introduced me to them on long car journeys when I was younger.

Protection's definitely my favourite album of theirs. The standard's high the whole way though. I never have to skip a track.

My son who has doggedly stuck to listening commercial (c)rap had an ephiphany yesterday. I managed to get him to listen to Mezzanine and it blew him away. He has been playing it all day along with some Lamb, Tricky and Portishead. Result!

Default Massive Attack

I don't know if this is the right forum for a question relating to this band. Perhaps this thread would find itself at home in the Hip-hop/Rap forum?

Anyway, does anyone know when the ever elusive and super secret new album will finally be released? I know that keeping fans in suspense is probably somewhat of a marketing ploy, but this has been going on since 2007! Enough! (The longer they wait, the higher expectations will be, and the bigger the disappointment if it turns out to be a less than perfect and revolutionary work, in the vein of Blue Lines or Mezzanine.)

Now that I am here I can explain how brilliant I think they are. Unleashed is incredible, it takes me to another world. They're from another planet I'm sure! But the main fave of mine is Mezzanine.
