It's very minimal, even for ambient.

Anyone heard Christina Vantzou's solo album? Its beautiful and only released a few weeks ago.

She's one half of The Dead Texan (who are also sublime). Highly recommend.

This is probably the track that started it all for me. Discreet Music by Brian Eno is a sentimental favourite. I remember lying in bed many times as a kid (well, teen) listening to this on my headphones.




The track is basically constructed around a long delay loop with sounds being introduced and repeating until they gradually fade away.

I have gotten a lot of good artists from this thread, so it is only fair that I give back. Not all are ambient, but they all are chillout.

Not sure if this is ambient but it's pretty damn mellow.

I don't listen to a whole lot of ambient but Pop by Gas is one of my favourite albums ever.


Stars Of The Lid are also excellent.

Tangerine Dream are so underrated. Great picks.

I'd kind of forgotten about them to be honest. Had some vinyl many years ago but haven't heard them in probably 20 years.
