I think it's becoming so popular because of all the different types there are.. It can be extremely hard or really nice and soft. I've head many different styles of it so far. Plus it can be mixed with any other Genre of music. Brittany Spears, Snoop Dogg, and Korn have all worked with a dubstep artist. 3 extremely different types of music, but they also all keep the feel of the original genre instead of just being considered dubstep in the end.

But I do feel like the entire world woke up and felt "I can do it too." So now it might be hard to actually find something really really good that isn't already played out.
