Thanks for the response, those songs are pretty good! I guess I would have to say that I like the songs that have just a few sound effects (one or two good synth/keyboard lines is always enough for me), usually with a fast beat, and definitely with vocals. For example, here are the songs that I've liked enough to put in my journal so far:
Sylvester - Do You Wanna Funk? Spoiler for Do You Wanna Funk?:
Julie Coulson - Big Time Operator (Operador de Exitos) Spoiler for Big Time Operator:
Pete Shelley - Homosapien Spoiler for Homosapien:
The Flirts - Helpless Spoiler for Helpless:
Sparks - Tryouts for the Human Race Spoiler for Tryouts for the Human Race:
Vivien Vee - Remember Spoiler for Remember:
Also, I was wondering something. What's the main difference between American and European Disco/Hi-NRG? Do they have different sounds?

I was looking more for songs that are from the late 1970's and early 1980's, because my journal is kind of a period piece. But thanks for the recommendations, I really appreciate them!
