Two Lone Swordsmen
Andrew Weatherall is the ****. I pretty much like everything he's done on Warp but his stuff under the Two Lone Swordsmen moniker stands out for me. With Keith Tenniswood, Weatherall trangresses genre by incorporating a wide range of influences into the groups sound. Dub, Post-Punk, Industrial, Downtempo and electro are all evident throughout their discography. I think From The Double Gone Chapel is my favourite album, near faultless.
Here, have a superwickedcool cover of The Gun Club |
^^I only have one album and that is the one you mentioned - From The Double Gone Chapel. It's great and this is exactly the kind of modern electronic music I like. I don't know much about it and it's a huge area of music, but if I was seriously going to explore it, this kind of electronic could pull me in.

I'd say I'm a pretty big fan of them. Although I haven't heard their first three or last two. Here are the ones I have and like:
A Bag of Blue Sparks (EP) Stay Down A Virus With Shoes (EP) Tiny Reminders From the Double Gone Chapel They really went in a different direction with From the Double Gone Chapel, but I like it a lot. And apparently went in an even further direction with the two more recent ones (Wrong Meeting and Wrong Meeting II), but I haven't heard them. |

I had never heard of these guys before but they sound pretty cool!

So, I got From the Double Gone Chapel the other day and on the first listen I was kind of neutral about it. But then I gave it a second listen and am really loving it. Such an interesting hybrid of styles. I can think of some people to compare certain facets to but the overall sound is very unique.

Yeah, theres a particular run of songs that are just amazing: Formica Fuego, The Lurch and Sex Beat, whilst The Stack, Damp, The Valve and Driving With My Gears in Reverse are all 10/10 for me. There are one or two songs that may constitute filler but I definately think it's one of my favourite Warp releases.

Easily my favorite electronic group, just ahead of Boards of Canada.

I do love TLS, and sometimes I listen to them and think 'This cannot be topped... By anything'. Then I'll stick on the Campfire Headphase or Music has the Right to Children and just be floored.
BOC are peerless as far as electronic goes in my view. |
It's all about Tiny Reminders for me.
