Trance or Electronic
Is above and Beyond one or the other?
Uhh...trance is a subgenre of electronic.
Above & Beyond's Podcast is called "Above & Beyond: Trance Around The World" So I'd like to think they worked in the trance side of things ;)
Oh. Due to poor use of capitalization to properly identify an artist's name, I misunderstood the question. I thought they meant something like "is either trance or electronic above and beyond better than the other?" Meaning, which do you prefer? Which didn't make sense.
Haha, I was confused wither they meant that or the artists, then I clicked that it was the artists, your point still stands though, trance is a subgenre of electronic music :).
And people should be more clear about their subject matter in the thread title (the artist name would have been more appropriate than the generic question) and clearly identify artist/album names with proper capitalization. :)
I would say they're commercial. They used to be as Trancey as Trance could be, but nowadays their stuff has quite a bit of House influence.
I hated Group therapy so much. I was so let down, because Tristate is my favorite trance record
I think Above and Beyond is still very much trance artists. I think the songs they produce outside of their podcasts/dj sets are very different and I'd need to agree with Canwll here. BUT, their sets are sooo much different to their commercialised songs, in the underground clubs in Glasgow they play filthy trance, which is awesome.
