Well I had to sleep on the floor last night for it but I got some freaking headphones.

FETCHER. 09-07-2010 09:34 AM

Why the hell did you have to sleep on the floor :(? Thats awful.

Only cause I love Calvin Harris.

Love this.

And this <3

Schizotypic 09-07-2010 10:13 AM

Especially liked that last one.

As for the floor thing, my mom moved into this apartment, and I have to stay here until I get my own (in about three more weeks). My brother is staying too so I usually sleep on the couch (It's a one bedroom) but I traded my bro the couch for him driving me to get headphones last night.

CanwllCorfe 09-07-2010 10:21 AM

Electrooo

and some insane Dutch House (the video edits the song a little bit, the melodies go for a lot longer)

Schizotypic 09-11-2010 11:23 AM

This amazing thread will die if I don't do this...

The first Techno song I ever heard...

House remix of the first techno song I ever heard by Dada Life:

Pretty dirty House mix by Lucky Date

Some new Dubstep I found that isn't by Hooky:

crash_override 09-13-2010 01:58 PM

Epic remix of Ripple by Liquid Stranger. Man, I thought this guys album tracks were good, some of the remixed tracks are even better.

Seriously_Tho 10-09-2010 11:54 AM

I'm looking for remixes of older music, mostly 80's & earlier. It can be newer but I'm going for an old-school sound.

What I really DON'T want is house, techno or anything with that repetitive thom-thom-thom beat - it's gotta be more creative than just tacking a beat onto someone else's song.

Some examples of favorites -

Dinah Washington - Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby (Verve Remixed 3)
Gabin - Just Be Yourself (Mr. Freedom)
Gabin - Other Way Around (Mr Freedom)
Deep Dish - Dreams (George Is on)
Johnny Cash - (Johnny Cash Remixed) - Get Rhythm
Sarah Vaughan - Fever (Verve Remixed)
The Doors - Strange Days (Thievery Corp)
The Doobie Brothers - Long Train Runnin' [Remix]
What Is Hip - (What Is Hip: Remix Project 1) - Tower Of Power
Ventura Highway - America - (What Is Hip: Remix Project 1)
Boogie Pimps - Somebody To Love (Saltshaker Remix Radio Edit)
Elvis Presley - Polk Salad Annie - Remix By Jack
Mo' Horizons - Hit The Road Jack (Pe Na Estrada)

(tried to post links but I struck out...)

Upbeat is definitely good. The challenge is to find music that's old school but exciting in a new, creative way. And if there's a name for this genre I don't know it.

IndiElectronica 10-11-2010 10:28 AM

all my recent favs are on my new mix - made a thread for it too :) (surprised no response!!)

Not the best Hooky songs but at least it's new...

don't know if iv'e posted this one... (also not that great)

pretty sick

Hitting_Singularity 11-25-2010 11:03 AM

So I like remixes, but I don't have that many because I don't really know where to get them or where to go to see which ones have been released..

Is there a definitive place to get new remixes?

and I'm kind of a budding audiophile, so HQ would be a huge bonus

Generally you'll find remixes in all the same places you find singles. I.E. Beatport or straight from digital labels or other digital outlets. But if you just want to casually search around for remixes of a particular song to become aware of, the easiest thing to do is add the word "remix" on the end of your search query on Youtube or what have you, and find ones you like.

It might just be because i love the original so much.. but this is great!

Anybody here know their way around FL 9?

Schizotypic 01-11-2011 02:17 PM

This song is so gitty it makes me sick.

Crookers just fucking murder the Beetroots on this one. Who agrees?

Hitting_Singularity 01-11-2011 05:34 PM

Thank you, Hitting_Singularity...
Anyway, here is some DeadMau5....

I have to say I didn't like DeadMau's mixes until about yesterday, but a lot of them are real, real relaxing.... enjoy... use a sub...

djchameleon 01-14-2011 10:20 PM

I heard these two recently I love them

well I couldn't find a youtube vid of the other mix but it's Usher's OMG(Don vito 2 the left Mix)

Hitting_Singularity 01-15-2011 05:46 PM

^ Love those trackS! song was good to begin with, awesome mix

one remix that I like better than the original is this

Serani is pro, he's been a producer behind many of the dancehall hits for 5 or 6 years and just started singing, he's got a cool quality to his voice i think

djchameleon 01-16-2011 02:52 AM

I found this little gem last night and I love it so much:thumb:

 good job that Rude Boy remix is mint. I'm going to have to download it if I can find it.

Schizotypic 01-16-2011 03:54 PM

Dude, I will literally send someone like $30 in the mail if they can find a working download for a FL9 VST called Sylenth1 v2.2. I can find the earlier version easy squeezy, but shit is v2.2 hard to find... and I kind of need it.

this was your own mix right? toying around in FL?

I wanted to hate the whole thing but by the time I got to through the middle and closer to the end I started realizing that I like it.

Hell no that ain't my mix!!!!!!! I wish I could take credit for that masterpiece. I mean sure, it's not top of the line in comparison to some Lucky Date or Gtronic re/mixes, but it's way beyond where I'm at... I started mixing three weeks ago tops. Anyway I posted it because it's what I was listening to while watching some of his tutorials on Rob Papen Blue and Albino3.... still haven't begun to crack how these oscillators and filters work really. :o:

Here's another guy trying to get noticed...

So anyone have any ideas on a song that is literally only signing I could sample? I've been working mostly on wobbles and haven't got far, but have also been playing around with Edison and the Fruity Slicer.... but have yet to figure out how to cut only the parts I want out of a sound wave.... so I need singing, just singing.

@Hitting_Singularity Nice posts, I'm liking that wubwubwub. If either of you two ever want to give FL9 a try, maybe help me throw together some mixes, give me a PM and I'll be sure to give u guys pretty much all ull need. I'm always looking for collaborates to make this shit easier.

djchameleon 01-17-2011 08:49 PM

did the thing I sent you in the PM work? the v2.2 that you were looking for

seconded

this is one of my favorite mixes here

Schizotypic 01-21-2011 01:35 AM

So... everyone sure they don't want to have me send them FL9 right now and start learning with me... I need a reliable partner. You don't necessarily have to be down my ally as far as what I like, but if you like Lucky Date - Ho's and Disco's, Crookers - My Penny, Gtronic - My Money, Hooky - Say Something, and Dirtiest Tubes In Dubstep (It's a youtube video), then you would be fuckin peeeerfect!

I wouldn't mind learning with you but I have a few projects on my hands at the moment that I need to finish up before undertaking new ones. I will keep you posted when I'm ready.

I don't know this guy personally. He's from London I think and I used a lot of his beats for my Built To Be Filthy mixtape. Here is one of the remixes of his I found on YouTube. Absolutely LOVE this.

Yeah, that's definitely a nice calm rap beat. Props to him. I couldn't make it.

Schizotypic 01-22-2011 11:28 AM

We gathered here today to celebrate The Crookers for being just the bees knees, the bees knees guys... the bees knees.

Kind of confused, but apparently the crookers did this too:
