Gabber.
I thought I would open a thread on the style Gabber in general, instead of individual Gabber artists.
Some examples of Gabber. Generally I don't listen to Gabber, but I used to be into it. I wondered how many members have heard of it or are fans of it.

I can't say I've ever really been 'into' Gabber as such. I've kept my distance but listen to the occasional track.
I think it's just a bit too mental to listen to for any period of time...

Yeah I know what you're saying, it was easy for me to get into as there's a massive Gabber/Hardstyle scene here, I've seen MOH (Masters Of Hardcore) like twice.

I used to listen to gabber and not much else a few years ago. Since then my tastes have expanded outwards a lot, but I still enjoy it when I hear it. I didn't really have favorite artists so much. I was just kinda interested in the sound I think. I'd just picked up a buncha compilations like the Industrial Strength series by Lenny Dee, as well as others.
Nice pick on Boomstick too. That brings back alot of memories of Scott Brown's Hardwired cd, which I loved. I think that was the best song on there maybe. Here's a sorta gabber sounding song I liked a lot recently (though I think I've linked it before): |

Yeah same, I was only a Gabber/Hardstyle/UK hardcore listener, and same my tastes have completely expanded, but not changed thankfully. I might have a swatch at Industrial Strenth by Lenny Dee as I've never heard of it
Me and Scott Brown go way back haha, I used to think the guy was the man! I heard somewhere that Boomstick was him experimenting with Gabber, it worked out for him though, it's a great tune. I'd never heard of The Playah until I tried to link Neighbourhood Crime, and it was mostly The Playah remixes, I'm no going to lie to you, I didn't like the Neighbourhood Crime remix so my opinion on him might be a little biased at first, I'll give him a wee swatch as well though, it can't do any harm surely.

It really is. And the Army of Darkness lines throughout just make it that much more awesome. Great combo right there. |
