This is true for so much of his work. Bad Selection is another prime example of this. The deep bass, which is always a crowd pleaser, is present throughout. The construction is different to most other producers however. In many tracks by other producers most of the intensity is created at the breakdown, and this builds to a crescendo until the drop, when the energy is released.

With Deadmau5, I find that the intensity is in the DNA of the song and will build to peak before the breakdown. At the breakdown, I find that suddenly I'm a bit lost and want the intensity back. When the track drops again, it becomes even more appealing but there's no release as we're back into the intense stuff. I guess you could almost call it an addiction because I grow to crave the intensity.

That sounds like why I love Len Faki's material. It's so relentless in it's repetition, and the heaviness makes all of his stuff sound so immense.

Exactly as Vanilla said. I haven't listened to the guy in a long time but I love the filthy bass lines he uses. His songs are almost addictive as said. I'll elaborate more when I have time.

Who are some artists that resemble deadmau5's sound? I love this kind of music.

Such as Chicane, and Richie Hawtin.. any other honourable mentions? More around the likes of deadmau5.

Thanks!

Bloody hell, has anyone listened to Deadmau5's latest album 4 x 4 Equals 12? Unbelievable.

Pure jizz-worthy pleasure

Woman! you need to control yourself.

you are jizzing all over the place

I have listened to a few tracks but idk. I'm not super exciting over any of them.

Maybe I'm just not a huge DeadMau fan.

Yeah I wasn't a fan. But I'm not really a fan of him, so I guess I'm not surprised.

deadmau5 is an unbelievable organic producer (creating his sounds from scratch in production software) his sounds are so pure and he always sets a mood with his music. My biggest gripe about him though is that he isn't progressive enough. In most, if not all of his club bangers (i.e. Ghosts n Stuff, Brazil, Slip, and so on) he builds up about 3/4 the way through the track....the sound gets suppppperrr intense and then he just drops the same hook that was playing for the first 3/4 of the song. But like I said, his sounds are spot on every time. Although when I listen to electronic music I am usually looking for progressive melodies.

Sounds retro or something.
