I know of a dj called Dj Nosaj.. I met him once, wither he changed his name or not I dunno. But this thread made me think of him and how I asked why he chose his Dj name, He said it was his name backwards, NOSAJ :: JASON

I've got his album Drift from this year on my iPod although I haven't given it a proper listen yet, but I was recommended it by a friend who is usually pretty hot on instrumental hip hop. I'll probably give it a listen in the next few days and be able to make a more relevant comment. Went a bit mental with new music recently so I'm working through lots of new stuff, and then get taken in other directions. This happens a lot!

I've been listening to Drift a lot lately.
I like it but have a feeling that it will ultimately fall into my "background music for when I have company and need something interesting but unintrusive" category.

it's dope but I wasn't tooooooo big on it. it was also a bit bleak at times but perhaps that the sound he was going for.

definitely not my fav of the current LA beatslingers

The album's gotten some decent play by me this year. At first I thought it was nothing new, sounded too much like Flying Lotus but more mellow and a bit less glitchy, smoother I guess. But then I realized lots of artists sound similar but that doesn't mean they're bad. It's not like it sounds like a straight rip off, and it's not like Flying Lotus invented the style either. It was slowly brewing long before him. It's a solid album.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
