I'm 99.99% sure I did the search right, but here goes anyway.

Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg here is the Dutch DJ who had a hand in several industrial, ambient and trip-hop projects in the 90s before going solo and releasing a few albums himself. Since then, to these ears at least, he's peddled among the finest big beat and progressive trance music there is. Definitely one of the first names you should look to if you're looking to have a dig around those areas of modern electronica.

The only albums I've got are his 2007 effort, Music From SSX Blur, and his latest album Booming Back At You. Allegedly there'll be a new one as soon as he finds a label willing to release it. Both very very good and lively efforts (though certainly the latter may be a bit commercial for some).

Yea I've heard a lot of his stuff, mostly his breaks tunes and remixes. He's pretty much a mainstay in progressive DJ sets and always fits as a transitional.

Haven't heard anything new from him in a while, but mostly it's because I started keeping up with more obscure electronic acts within the progressive genre and haven't kept him in my sights consistently.

Good stuff though.

check Sasha's Airdrawndagger LP. it features some production work by Junkie XL, and it's a great album.

He's definitely one of the best modern big beat DJs I've come across. I am pretty new to this area of electronica as well (I only started listening to it via my interest in trip-hop a couple of months back), so I'm yet to really have a dig around the underground. I'm sure there's a lot of great stuff I'm missing out on so far though.

I dove into the genre around 98' or so and have found some very good artists since then. Whatever suits your taste, it's out there.

I own both 'Saturday Teenage Kick' and 'Radio JXL: A Broadcast from the Computer Hell Cabin' albums. I remember buying 'Saturday Teenage Kick', when it was first released in the UK, because Dino Cazares of Fear Factory did all the guitar work on it.

Two albums I'm yet to get myself there. Saturday Teenage Kick sounds particularly interesting - I'm a massive fan of Overseer too, and he tends to use metallic riffery with a lot of his tunes too.

More's a great little tune. Perfect for any mainstream dancefloor, yet an admirable work of music at the same time - how odd :D Is it just Booming Back At You that you've got?

By the way, since I made this thread, I've since added his 2006 album Today to my library of popular musicks, and it's bloody mind-blowing. Definitely my favourite album of his now.

I only have Booming back at you. I wasn't aware he had much more out, anything decent he has?
