Agreed, I really like it quite a bit but I still think Prefuse 73s Vocal Studies & Uprock Narratives is a more hip hop oriented bit of class in the broken beat genre.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I can't express how much i dig Flying Lotus, but honestly, this thread should be in the hip hop section. FlyLo is way more influenced by jazz and hip hop than electronic music. He just expresses his art through electronics. I would compare his **** to DJ Shadow. Anyway, those are my two cents.

I disagree...he may well be influenced by jazz and hip-hop but the end result is electronic music. Not just because he's creating it with electronic equipment. DJ Shadow retains more of a hip-hop beat and warmth throughout his material, so I would tend to classify him as hip-hop before I would Flying Lotus - who is far more mechanical and into electronic trickery.

Default Flylo

I would consider his music to be more of constantly evolving jam, rather than a series of tracks, or even measures, he's breaking some ground for sure, hes a loop digger for sure, and he's into DMT so who knows what he even thinks about the tunes he makes.

Apparently he is remixing the latest Radiohead album. Will be really interested to see how that comes out if it ever sees the light of day!

I just listened to Cosmogramma awhile ago. Definatley one of the better releases from '10 and my favorite release from him so far.
