Metronomy
Why is there no thread on these guys? Nights Out is one of my favourite albums of 08, whilst Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe) is, in my opinion, even better. Definetly one of the best British acts around at present
What do you Minx's think? |

Well Pip Paine is mostly instrumental electro. Influences include Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin and, to an extent, Talking Heads.
Nights Out is more of a mainstream album. It consists of much more accessable, conventionally structured pop songs whilst maintaining the electro of the first album. |

Pip Paine was a really good album. "Trick or Treatz" is seriously one of my favorite songs ever, for reasons I can't really explain.
I liked "My Heart Rate Rapid," but haven't really bothered to give the new album a listen yet. So much 08 stuff to catch up on already. :/ |

Finally downloaded Nights out after about three months of smack talk from my band mate, and it is excellent. Although no one here will really care , cause electronica seems largely ignored here.......
