I love 36 but their music is often pretty upbeat for sleep imo

An essential staple of the genre; thank you. I have the 8-hour digital release and the edited vinyl edition.

That one IS new to me. I'll definitely look into it!

I'm heading off to bed presently but will check back tomorrow night in case there are any others.

Cheers!

Paul Horn's album Inside The Taj Mahal is like my #1 sleep album. There's something unearthly about it that turns my brain into driftwood as I fall away. Anything by Robin Guthrie & Harold Budd does the trick too.

Thanks for the Paul Horn tip, Anteater! I'll definitely explore it. And Budd is my all-time favorite ambient musician, whether in collaboration or solo. In addition to having all 45 of his albums digitally, I've several original pressings from his catalog on wax. There are a few ultra-limited releases of his which have never resurfaced on the resale market - they're elusive grails I hope to one day claim for my library.

Years ago I found a vinyl copy of Inside the Taj Mahal for a dollar. One of the better bargain bin finds I've had.

Hiroshi Yashimura is one of my current sleep favorites. Rarely get past the first track of Surround before passing out
