Good Trance Suggestions
Well, I have been listening to a ton of Infected Mushroom lately, and I realized I want more trance like that. I want it fast, melodic and epic. So, any suggestions? Also, try to pick more original trance groups because I prefer to listen to ones that are somewhat original.

As far as Trance is concerned, my favorite has always been the work of MATT DAREY. Although he is mostly responsible for remixing other people's work, he has a style that is truly beautiful to me. He has a great knack of adding elements of upcoming songs into the previous song (I hope that makes sense), not to mention his love of bringing things down for a minute, then building up to a euphoric climax.

You could try some Neo-Trance, which is the trance-y Techno stuff (think Gui Boratto, The Field, etc.) that labels like Kompakt, Dial, and Border Community release. The Kompakt Total series is a good starting point, and other two are kind of small labels so just pick up an artist album by them (try Efdemin's S/T, one of Pantha Du Prince's albums, or Nathan Fake's Drowning In A Sea of Love). It's pretty close to Progressive House if you listen to any. |

Give me one artist that uses the type of samples and composition that 1200 Micrograms and GMS use.
Check out Heroes of The Imagination, Magic Numbers, The Time Machine.

Also, I realize these last two posts make me sound like "that guy" who always condescendingly (and annoyingly) recommends you something other than what you asked for, but I honestly think that Trance these days is garbage and really not worth listening to at all. It's a genre that simply hasn't progressed in years, enjoyable for some people, yes (personally I don't think there's enough E in the world to get me to like this stuff), but original it is not. |
