Default Does it offend you, yeah?

Ok, so I'm pretty sure there's been some talk about them around these parts before but apparently a thread hasn't been made. I finally got around to hearing their debut "You have no idea what you're getting yourself into" (that was a mouthful!) and it's a very good album. Two tracks stand out after the first few listens, With a heavy heart and Let's make out. For those unfamiliar, they play a sort of mix of electro-house (I think), nu-rave or electro-punk in the vein of the Klaxons. Along with The presets' Apocalypso this may rank up there as this year's most fun electro release...

Check it:
Does it offend you, yeah? - Let's make out

Does it offend you, yeah? - Epic last song

Great song name (it's the last song on the album) and a fun video.

I have heard the name being bandied around but have yet to check them out. Props for the thread.

Liked the first one, 'Lets Make Out', but the second track was a bit nondescript. :/

I prefer the second track! They seem OK but nothing particulary out of the ordinary.

this band is awesome, i hear a lot of people call them generic, but i've never heard a band that sounds like this. the closest comparison i can think of is Hot Hot Heat + Justice.

whatever they are, they are underrated, and most definitely awesome. my favorite songs are definitely "Let's Make Out," "With A Heavy Heart (I Regret to Inform You)," and "We Are Rockstars," though there honestly isn't a bad track on the album. I listen to it all the way throgh every time, and that is something I rarely do with album.s

the fact that pitchfork gave them a 2.4 is laughable and pathetic

I really really really want to hate them. And for the most part i do. But their single We are Rockstars or whatever it's called is annoyingly good!

Their myspace blog when they first started out was hilarious though. They didn't used to post pictures of themselves, they just posted a pic of these 2 old blokes they said were their dads.

I first heard this on the Kitsune Maison Compilation 5. If you like this check out "Moving Units" album called "Dangerous Dreams".

Ha, obvious joke, but so true. Terrible, terrible band. enemyat_thesix, I honestly have no idea what you see in them because it seems like you listen to a lot better Electro House than this crap. There are a billion groups mentioned once on the pages of Discobelle/Fluokids/etc., never to be heard from again, better than DIOYY.

Also, I saw that "We Are Rockstars" was only recently released as a single??? WTF, that song was a summer hit two summers ago!
