Daft Punk have been using vocoders on their vocals (not autotune) since they started in the mid/late 90s. The epidemic that is autotune does in fact resemble a vocal effect created by using a vocoder. Now think about when T-Pain started "making" music and tell me again that Daft Punk thinks they'e T-Pain.
I'm not a particularly big fan of Daft Punk honestly, so I'm not just trying to stand up for them, just correcting you. I liked Homework when it came out but was totally turned off when I heard "One More Time" on the next album...gave up on them immediately. I still hear that song far too much.
I might check out their Tron soundtrack though, that'll probably be interesting. I just don't like their vocals and got sick of vocoders over 10 years ago.
