Love Daft Punk. Aerodynamic is definitely my favorite song by them.

Such a damn shame that everyone goes dolally about this band when in the scheme of things they are quite average. Far better bands out there who are fun.

I know Daft Punk have had a bit of fun with Cassius in the past but as you say, these artists are 'fun'.

Different sound.

Fine, there's more than a hint of Drum & Bass in the first one (Not anything like Daft Punk but not disputing the good sound)

Cassius has a good sound but Deadmau5 mashed it!

edit: I settled for deadmau5 but this was the song that I was really thinking of! Very much forgotten...

Despite this, it's just not Daft Punk! You rarely hear remixes of DP that are better than the original. They rule the scene and you'll find it difficult to meet many 'electronic heads' who disagree

not big into them after Discovery. they are a rather big piece of the EDM puzzle, whether or not one likes them

Ditto, they would be so good to see live. I would take so many good "enhancers" for that. Heaven.

I've only read through part of this thread, but since everyone here seems to be gaga over them I suppose I'll play devil's advocate and say I don't see what's so spectacular about this group. I can see how they *could* be spectacular since they have a nice, fresh sound and a few great ideas (especially on Discovery), but all their albums just seem so half-assed and repetitive that aside from a few exceptional passages they're really just generic club music with a 'heavier' than usual sound. When you look at a group like the Chemical Brothers who were overflowing with ideas early on in their career and made a few albums that evolved consistently from beginning to end, DP just look really shallow in comparison.

*awaits flaming*
