Orbital
they'e a techno band from the UK.
so anyone else know of or like them? to date, i think they have about 10 or 11 albums. all of which are worth while. But if you're just getting into them then I suggest their greatest hits album so you can get a feel for their best songs and the (earlier) albums from which those songs came from. I personally prefer their albums Insides and Event Horizon |
I quite enjoy them.
Nothign UBER Special, but enjoyable nonetheless. Didn't they do a song with Kirk Hammet for the Spawn Soundtrack? |

I've never heard the Spawn soundtrack but i read an article about it. |
It's a good soundtrack, and yes, They did collaborate.
The song is Aptly called "Satan" and it's brilliant. |

they should do some more collabs with some other great guitarists |
I agree.
They've got a good sound, but it's not as good when they do it by themselves. In my opinion, Anyway. |

I personally think that was one of their bests ongs and if Satan is just an example of what they can do with other musicians then with another really great band i think they could make one hell of a song. maybe do something with some of the guys from MSI (just tot hrow out a name) |
Haha, that would be really weird...but I imagine they could pull it off really well.
There's definately a lot of talent there. |

combine MSI (one of the greatest bands ever) with Orbital (one of the greatest techno bands ever) and you've got like one of the best songs ever. That's actually one of my dream combos for some reason. Plus MSI is really versatile. |
MSI is very versatile? What MSI have you been listening to?

they're loud they put on great shows i can't think of just one word to describe them. |
Orbital were a fantastic band. The "brown" album and Insides are classics. They lost it a bit after Middle of Nowhere, but they still made some good tunes later on. Funny Break and You Lot spring to mind.
|
The brown album was my favorite back in the day. I also really enjoyed Snivilization. I recently revisited In Sides and it pretty brilliant.

Not a big fan of that track I must say, I prefer they're more electronica stuff! |
Brown album is my favourite too.
They have reformed to play more festivals this year, I saw them on their last tour in 2005 I think??? Lookin forward to see them again this year! |
New Orbital tune "Don't Stop Me":

Ive loved orbital for years. They do amazing live gigs. I saw them last year at glastonbury (straight after LCD soundsystem :) ) when the new Dr Who joined them on stage and played a tune, it was geektastic :)
The new tunes. "Don't stop me" and "The Gun is Good" went down very well with the crowd. New edgier sounds with that classic Orbital vibe. |
I only have the brown album and In Sides and they're both great.....
Thumbs up, I guess |
The album wonky is really good I think, especially the song "one big moment".
I don't know how many times i've listened to it. What do you think of this album? The song Chime on another album is also great i think- |
In Sides (plus bonus tracks which don't really belong) The 24 minute Out There Somewhere (from 47:57 onwards in the video above) is quite a journey. My favourite electronic album. |
Halcyon On + On is my favourite dance tune of all time. The entire Brown album is an immense listen as well.
