New Order is pretty cool. I've only seen them 3 times (1988 in NY, 1992 in NJ, and 2005 in Coachella, CA), but I felt lucky as they rarely have performed in the states. Besides the popular tunes like Blue Monday, Shellshock, True Faith, Regret, and of course Bizarre Love Triangle. Besides those, the tracks I really liked the most include Crystal, I Told You So, Ceremony, Round and Round, and 1963.
I would love to see them live one more time since admittedly I was a bit "knackered" when I saw them @ The Coachella Festival, but @ least I was aware enough to enjoy when they did perform Regret and 1963.

New Order are awesome, one of my first favourite ever bands. Of all people my GCSE history teacher recommended I download Blue Monday when I was 14, and I've since bought all but one of their albums. It's all about Technique, Republic and Get Ready for me. Never seen them live though

Bumped for I've-started-listening-to-them-a-lot-again-related reasons.
What's everyone here think of Waiting For the Siren's Call? I absolutely love the singles Krafty and Jetstream (even if the lyrics are hella cheesy), but otherwise I remember being really disappointed by it. Probably because it never blew me away like Get Ready when I first listened to it (I was only 13 or 14 at the time I got it anyway). The former's the only New Order album I'd call sub-par myself. EDIT - My top 5 albums for anyone not in the loop; Technique Republic Get Ready Lowlife Brotherhood ^ In that order. |

This song has always been my favourite New Order track. It literally fucking blows me away. HAS to be played loud.

I don't really like their older stuff actually. The only album I really like from them is Get Ready. I think that's a really excellent album. The song "Love Less" is great though. That's about the only song I like from them that isn't on Get Ready. I have to start listening to their older stuff again though just to see if my opinion will change lol.

I had a New Order song come up on shuffle some time last week and had a thought similar to this. Seriously, he flat out SUCKS on some songs. This is what's prevented me from ever really getting into the band. Sure they have some really great songs ("Blue Monday" is one of my favorite dance/electronic songs ever) but goddamn does he sound awful sometimes. Is it even the same guy singing on "Blue Monday"? I don't know much about the band.
