Oh no, there is.
I just don't think Pendulum is one of them.

I never thought they were much good, they were boring average jump up, and i've never been much of a jump up fan, now they're like, electronic rock(?) maybe, I don't know, not a fan of that either.

Not Pendulum in specific, as I was into drum & bass long before Pendulum arrived on the scene, but the general tendency for a genre to be right in its prime when you fall in love with it, then see it eventually fall to bits. I guess the most painful thing about it is that eventually, no one will make the kind of music you really dig, so you're kind of left back with just the things that are already there... and with no hope for anything new.

Pendulum did have some good stuff. I just don't like where they went with their talents.
But I guess you can leave all the old heads behind when you know you got a new niche to carve out of the mainstream, along with all the fans you'll gain.
It just won't be the same, true head fans. And usually the mainstream fans will be the first one to ditch when something new comes along and shines nicer, glitters more, and distracts them long enough.
I see what you're saying. When I first got into the drum and bass scene it was very underground, and very good and heavy music. But dumb little teeny bopper first years started crashing the scene the moment any of the songs of artists went mainstream. It no longer has it's edge. But damn dnb festivals are amazing!

Yeah it's not half bad huh? Not the best I've heard, but the intro is pretty sick and the middle from like 2:05-3:10 is pretty sweet as well. I'm actually interested to give the full album a listen when it comes.

Where's the 'like' button?

Bit of a fusion between new and old (:
