Anyone heard of Dntel?
He is the guy who did the beats for Postal Service...anyone else a fan?
|
LOVE Dntel... I love Figurine even more (his former band). I'd recommend getting ALL you can of these two. In fact I prefer Figurine to Postal Service (and that's saying something!)
albums I have: Dntel Early Works for Me If It Works For You Dntel Life Is Full of Surprises Dntel MP3s (assorted) Dntel Something Always Goes Wrong Dntel This Is the Dream of Evan and Chan [SINGLE] Dntel Vynalogica 1 Figurine The Heartfelt Figurine transportation + communication = love |
Not heard of them.
Are they a european group ? |
it's Jim Taberello (not sure on spelling) who was in fugurine and is the music/electronica side of Postal Service. Jim is from California I think (certainly from the US)
|
I like postal service
|
The Postal Service Started from the song (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan from Dntel's album Life Is Full of Possibilities. Figurine I like more than PS actually - a MUST for you to check out then!
|
^ YES! I would agree. Figurine is right up there with PS in terms of catchiness. I've been trying to look out for any pending material from them, but it's kinda hard to find their homepage.
If I'm not mistaken, Styrofoam is also the same guy on the beats...?... They're also damn good, and Ben Gibbard does vocals on couple of the tracks. |
styrofoam i put in a different category... more glitchy and not quite as catchy. Had no idea he was involved with any of these bands though!
A more indie version of styrofoam is Hood. Highly recommended! (Outside Closer was my number 1 album of 2005 in fact!) |
^ Exactly!
