I have just trawled my way through this list, and was impressed by the eclectic choices and succinct reviews. Obviously I don't agree with all your views. Screamadelica is'nt even in my top 100! Blasphemy? No just opinions. A truly commendable effort, but something tells me you may be single? I could'nt even begin to take on this sort of project!
Very rarely do I read something on the net, that is just written by the casual fan and is engrossing.

this is the longest thread I've ever taken the time to read through on an Internet board. great job, Urban.
personally, I've only heard about 10 of these albums--terrible, I know. one, I was born in 1989. two, I grew up in a household where we were only allowed to listen to contemporary Christian music. as a result, it wasn't until I was 14 or 15 that I started to explore music on my own. my musical vocabulary pre-1990 is severely lacking. I think it's awesome that your mother played such a crucial role in your musical journey. I kind of want to compile a top 100 list of my own, but the summaries would be much shorter, and there wouldn't be many albums before 1995. edit: why isn't my post showing up? |

Because I didn't see it to verify it
Thank you for your kind words , I think it would be a very different list if I did it today.

ha! just read through the whole thread, cracking list! Obviously I would have made alot of different choices, but putting that Furries album so high was a good move... they are an institution that band. I've poached about 10 of your faves I haven't heard and stuck them on my Wanted List, cheers
