Nah, sorry but that **** that Disney made billions and billions of dollars on can't be beat.

Bollox. Bigger box office doesn't mean better movie. Disney's **** is all the same, just replace this character with that character and this situation with that situation, add cute animal/alien/dopey figure, install chart hit soundtrack shake well, rinse and repeat. Burton ftw. At least he's original.

Did you really just accuse Disney of being a one trick pony directly before praising Tim Burton?

Disney owns Star Wars, so does your opinion remain the same towards Star Wars?

When your formula is as utterly brilliant as Disney's then who gives a flying ****?

Disneys OWN Star Wars; they didn't create it. So no, I don't think the same about Star Wars obviously. Also we're talking animation here.

What I said was Disney's formula is always the same. Burton may have only had this one major hit in animation (Corpse Bride was terrible!) but it was a totally original and new idea, and a thousand times better than the stuff Disney is putting out these days.

What's so utterly brilliant about their formula? Buy up the best studios and make them theirs? Recycle the same basic story over and over till you're sick of it? Yeah, great formula. The Justin Bieber of movies.

"These days"? You do know that Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King are more than twenty years old, right? I mean, it's no knock on Nightmare Before Christmas to not be as great as those two particular films, but it utterly pales in comparison. The Lion King in particular.

Trollheart 11-14-2015 01:30 PM

We weren't talking about those. Frozen was the one mentioned. I was responding to the glut of Disney movies that have infested cinemas in the last few years. I still think making one really different, thoughtful and funny movie (with a bitchin' soundtrack) gets more votes from me than a machine churning out the same basic formula with a few tweaks here and there. I mean, could you honestly say that of any of the last, let's say five Disney movies you watched, you couldn't figure out what was going to happen really quickly, how it was going to unfold, how it would end? Pixar made some excellent movies, then the beast that is Disney swallowed them. Now I'm just waiting for Toy Story IX: Cinderella meets Woody (or was that a porno I watched?)....

Frownland 11-14-2015 01:35 PM

We were actually talking about those movies, Trollheart.

To which you started telling us how we should masturbate to Tim Burton because he's so not formulaic and redundant in any way whatsoever. To which we responded, "nah, you're stupid." To which you attempted to prove yourself as factually correct or something.

You've made up your mind, clearly. You don't need to hurt yourself anymore by foolishly trying to convince me that Alladin and Monster's Inc. are basically the same film, or something similarly silly.
