I wouldn't consider the ad part of his "creative ethos" at all. It resembles something that some dreadful excuse of a comedian like Tyler Perry would make if he threw political correctness out of the window, not something that Tyler The Creator should put up alongside his other works as shining examples of his great vision. His music has actual depth, a sense of black comedy and wit, even if that wit manifests itself in stupid ways more often than I like. That ad was just a load of tactless trash that fails to engage or amuse the viewer and will do nothing but alienate Mountain Dew to the markets it hasn't broken through to.

He's admitted to liking stupid things (ie. Waka Flaka and making songs like "Tina"), surreal/absurd things (abusive jonesing goats), and jokes that only he or his friends think are funny (about every referential line he writes, which is probably a 1:6 ratio of his entire lyric formation).
Also, how much lower can Mt. Dew really stoop? It's rumored to shrink your dink and is only a step above Faygo in trashiness.

That guy has one of the most interesting faces I've seen, he looks like an 80's comic book character. Also, I shamelessly love that Offspring song.
Surell I bet you're the type to bark like a seal at this garbage Haha! Look at Tyler, he's wearing a wig. He's so funny. and smart. and creative. and talented. but if you're white you probably don't get it although he makes music for preppy white kids. he is like the best thing to ever happen to pop culture! what a hoot! |

I thought that clip was funny too
Tyler has stated he accepts alienating a black audience(though not that wording), I don't know why your alluding to him trying to cater primarily to black ppl. My biggest gripe with the show is just the fact that it's another jackass clone. At least it's one of the more endearing ones, I much perfer tyler's antics to bam margera's "Viva La Bam", watching him hurl shit at his mom or whatever the hell he used to do. |

Maaanky I really don't wanna hear you talk about someone liking garbage while you still drink Mountain Dew. And you like Drake. Please don't embarrass yourself like that.
I hadn't seen that clip, it's not my favorite but my lack of self-seriousness allowed me to have a chuckle at it. This season is not as good as their first, but Dark Shark is pretty rad. Anyway, to actually address you, stop acting like you know the whole crew having hardly heard them or watched their TV programming. Just because you don't get it means every white person living today lacks that insight. I think the cats you listen to have a more upper tier white fanbase than Tyler. Plus, you already said he makes music for white kids but not for black people, yet it's vice versa for TV? get your shit straight. Sparky I like the more sketch oriented side of Loiter Squad, like ET and Dark Shark's hood and stuff like that. Some of their streetside humor is good, but since they put Bam on there and hit harder with it it's been a little less funny. Some of their sketches this season aren't quite as good either, but it's still fun.

the skits seem fairly improvisational, and i like crude spontaneous humor. The editing of it certainly helped.
Haven't actually watched a full episode, only one other sketch. Don't have much motivation to critique it, i just enjoy the unadulterated hyper angst character of it. It's this weird skater culture machismo thats hard to relate to unless you have experience with that kinda crew. So theres my critique of that bam. |

preesh bro. Yeah Tyler has a nack for selling things just by timing, or delivery. Sometimes it bites him but I think it's one of his best traits.

If it makes any of the Tyler defenders fell better Cracked's coverage of the ad not only came out long after it stopped being anything anyone cared about but was also a load of shit.

Plus, that don't understand that the last word in a line does not have to rhyme with the next last word. I like cracked but their uberhyperbolicness can get annoying, especially if the facts aren't straight.
