Yes, "Nostalgia, Ultra", "Earl", "Bastard", "The Jet Age of Tomorrow", "BlackenedWhite" and "YelloWhite" to a lesser extent. Maybe some others, but I forget.
I just find them to be phony alternatives, who really crave attention and have no intention to make challenging music that appeals to die hard Hip Hop fans. More, they want to make acceptable "out there" music for the masses.

That's where you went wrong. They aren't for die hard Hip Hop fans. "Die hard" usually indicates purism, and that's what they contradict (thank god). Why make music for die hard Hip Hop fans? Why make music for die hard fans, or any kind of fans? They make music for themselves, i can't see why that's a problem.

That was a bad use of words on my part.
I have no problem with them "making music for themselves" (however obvious it is that they are also trying to appeal to a mass audience) but they just don't do it for me because a lot of their output is below par, even the albums I like are only good, nothing more.

Mass audience? On subjects like rape, gorelicious murder, and daddy problems, satanic imagery, serial killer name drops, and extremely lo fi beats? The dungeon beats themselves are enough to keep them off the radio. Their following is mostly cult, and that status usually isn't very large.

I don't think so. They are a huge name outside the obvious mainstream. Their videos get million of views on Youtube, their videos are on MTV (which was Tyler's dream...) and a lot of their music deals with issues in such a childish way that it becomes easily accessible for any young teen to latch on to.
They are obviously a step below Lil Wayne and artists of his ilk (in terms of being mainstream/accessible) but I would hardly say they have a "cult" following, although I think a lot of their fans think they are part of one.
