I think I fell into the Only-Listen-To-Tyler-And-Earl trap. Listening to Radical properly, Hodgy and Mike are pretty sick.

I don't think there's a bad full time rapper among the group. They're all really different in approach but they all have their strengths. Even Domo has a super smooth flow and some pretty solid rhymes.

Eh, Odd Future (I'm mainly thinking of Tyler, who imo is the most talented of the group) is good, but like B- good in my opinion. Their whole "I'm a crazy motherfucker" shtick gets really old though. Most of the time it's basically just a marketing ploy for artists that has gotten really worn out and has always been pretty retarded to begin with (not that I have anything against marketing ploys, I mean it's a really fine line between a style and marketing ploy). I have to admit Tyler has done some interesting things with beats, but yeah, I don't have that much respect for them beyond interesting beats on a few songs.

I don't think it's as simple as that, and it's a pretty broad shtick to begin with, but okay.

I'd get what you were saying if they fell into the trap of just rapping about messed-up things in every single song, but a lot of their songs have serious and clever themes and lyrics beyond the over-the-top surface.
