You're definitely right. I actually like that song! That's one thing I'll say about these guys, they certainly have plenty of time to develop their style.
Is that song from one of the MellowHype albums or is it just a standalone thing? |

I respect other peoples opinions, and I'm not a Tyler or Earl ****rider screaming OMG THEY ARE AWESOME, but I definitely don't see how that Mixxie song is anything like the stuff that Earl has put out there. If it wasn't a mod saying they sound alike, I'd think it was trolling, because they are that different. Part of me wants to believe that Janszoon is just playing devils advocate on some of these things to promote more discussion to be honest.

As much as I like and respect Janszoon, I couldn't agree with you more here.

For the record though, I was talking about Tyler not Earl. I haven't heard the Earl album. |

Well, this brings me back to the original question that started the whole derailment: if I hated the Tyler album, is Earl even worth a listen for me? I'm not trying to be a dick, I mean this seriously and would be more than happy to check it out if you think there's any chance of me liking it. I did like that Tyler-produced track you posted yesterday after all.
I know a couple people in this thread seem to think I disliked the Tyler album because I had something against it before listening or that I didn't "really" listen to it or something, but nothing could be further from the truth. I've been hankering for some good new hip hop and when I saw a thread about the Tyler album on here a few months ago it sounded like exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. Unfortunately I was really disappointed with album, like disappointed to a degree that I rarely ever experience with music. |
