When Earl tries to write lyrics that are more poignant and less focused on rape and misogyny, I truly believe he is one of the best lyricists out right now. Not to mention being young as ****. Also, Frank Ocean's ambient, emotion pouring channel ORANGE is a beautiful album with a hazy middle range, powerful high ranges, and features from artists such as Andre 3000 and the aforementioned Earl Sweatshirt. Tyler, the Creator is a talented producer. His rapping ability is dismal, but he finds a way to make it unique enough that it's interesting. He is also a marketing king. I like Odd Future. I truly believe they are the future of hip hop, and possibly music.

I still like Tyler's style, but sometimes he stretches himself or just says some pretty whack shit, I'll admit. But I like that his rap usually looks at a big picture, or that his ideas are really complex, they just need better articulation from time to time.

The start of his newest album is great. I am sure there is a masterpiece in there... somewhere.

It's got a lot of great tracks, and if he entirely ditched the concept it could have made a great mixtape. It's an interesting concept of course, but it has very little bearing on too many of the songs. I like the ending tracks too, the last track is one of my very favorites of his.

Wolf is one of the best hip-hop albums of the year so far in my opinion. The way it flows is impeccable. So natural and smooth and the dynamics shift very often and in a way that isn't abrasive and annoying.

I love Earl's new track, seriously. I figured I wouldn't really be giving OF too much attention any more but if DORIS is as good as the stuff he's put out for it so far I imagine I'll be listening to it a lot.
