Does anyone listen to this guy? He's pretty offensive. He raps about raping and killing women, cutting them up etc.

Is there a point where rappers go too far with lyrics?

The only thing I like about him is his deep voice, he reminds me a lot of Eminem circa Marshall Mathers LP.

idk the using "rape" is questionable. Rape is a serious thing and it shouldn't be used in anything joking. It also shouldn't be used in any context that isn't....you know...an actual rape

Yeah, I think people just don't understand how to properly satire, like if you have to explain it, you're probably an asshole.

I merged it. All is well.

I think it's a surrealist kind of tool for his music, or at least his older stuff. Kind of like the rape in Blue Velvet - that wasn't satirical, nor was it affirming that rape was ok, it just represented some horrible aspect of the character. I think most of Tyler's topics and motifs are more surreal than real. Plus, his latest album has very little raping on it.

That's just asking to be misread.
