Hmm... well this is going to be tricky. Is there any way to edit the OP in here?

Just remembered this one:
http://redtelephone66.blogspot.com/
A 60s & 70s Psych blog.

Now there's another eclectic one I've been checking regularly, but all the reviews are in French. Still I'm going to put the link, as there's some rare gems in there:

I dunno if you guys are okay with me posting my own blog, but this is a blog my friends and I just started and we plan on adding more and more stuff as time goes on.

Where the Crows Go

It'll be mostly folk, punk, ska, alternative, indie, emo, screamo, and other stuff along those lines.

Request to moderation staff:

If you feel it'd be a good idea/is possible, please copy all replies from this thread into a Lounge Thread called Music Blogs: Suggestions or something like that, while leaving the OP intact. Basically the idea is to use the new thread for suggestions - and update this list of blogs periodically.

Spanks,

Conan

You guys are amazing. I had no idea there were so many free music sites on the web. After Napster's file trading site was closed down I couldn't find any decent free music sites, so I just gave up on the free music thing. Apparently I didn't look hard enough because you can apparently get music for free at a lot more locations than where you get music for your hard earned money.

Most of the free sites I found in the post Napster era weren't even worth recommending because they were slow, loaded with spyware and most files had a bit rate of 128 kbps which is like listening to a song on a 50s era Japanese trasistor radio. I recently gave Limewire a second try and the selection was good awful and there were very few files with a bit rate of over 128 kbps.

You would love torrents. Try getting BitTorrent and see if any of your friends have accounts on Demonoid (a private website).

A blog I just discovered. It's got a very nice collection of 60s musts, arriving all the way to some 90s Grunge:

And here's one I've been raiding lately...

Psychotic Leisure Music

^ Basically a great collection of ambient, industrial, jazz, and probably others I haven't quite found yet. Also, according to the blogger himself, none of the upload are commercially available anymore, so dig in eh.
