So do Irish people. After all, the full word is mathematics isn't it? So it would be maths.
Also, if you want to do that with English it would be Englishes. Please don't forget the "e" at the end.... ![]() But English is one singular word. You don't hear people say "The Englishs Queen" or "The Englishs team". That's just taking it too far. As far as we on this side of the pond are concerned, it's maths. You can all keep your math: it's not a singular word. Also, I hated maths (!) at school, one of the reasons I got out early.
