What is that? Seriously, what in the living name of **** is that? You didn't even need to put anything there. It would have been just fine without any kind of punctuation whatsoever. Loser.

Oh yes I did. It denotes a short pause, like for instance someone saying "If there's anything I can do for you at all --- I mean it --- let me know."

It's NOT the same as "If there's anything I can do for you at all I mean it let me know."
