I really can't fathom how people can just ignore when we get members that are blatantly or obviously racist or sexist, and defend them on the basis that they're "characters".

I'm not saying people should be ostracized for not being perfect people with perfect opinions, but when youre dealing with sexism and racism or other similar things, I really think that person needs to be something special to get people to overlook it.

216, HHBH, aren't that. Dirty wasn't that either but people threw out the same defense, same for Scotty The Rebel.

Maybe I just feel like people should place a slightly higher premium on not being a dick.

as for what I really think about someone - I'd like to suggest that almost nobody in that sexism thread 216 bumped, has any ****ing idea what they're talking about and there's a whole ****ing ton of unintentional sexism there that's making me reconsider who is and who isn't an utter pillock on MB.
