Over the years, I've seen this thread behave a certain kind of way. Most times, it's people giving praise to others. Every once in a while, someone comes in here and says something someone else doesn't like. That's when the sh*t storm starts. I have demonstrated that myself on multiple occasions. The truth of the matter is that people view this thread as a self-congratulatory depot. Everyone wants to be praised, and everyone wants to be praised for praising. It's not what this thread is meant for, albeit the tendency of human nature even on the internet.

When there are moments of people having a negative opinion, that's when this thread actually becomes valuable. Most people don't know it because they can't see past their own ego. I pity them, but I understand. It's just unfortunate, is all.

I say all that to say, if you're not here to speak or hear opinion, uh, stay out of the thread. This is not something worth convening a consortium over.

You still haven't given a good reason why the whole argument couldn't have been taken to PMs.

I'm perfctly willing to speak and hear opinion. As I've said before, I think this thread is great because it allows people to voice their thoughts on others without getting called out. If others want to take an issue with those thoughts, it should happen via PM.

This is absolutely something worth convening about. Obviously, some people aren't happy with the way this place is being run.

There was more to it than that I'm just having a hard time remembering the other details because a) im kinda drunk, b) the events described happened a long time ago and c) I actually haven't seen or spoken to the person in a few years. I think the point I was trying to make is that from what I've been told and to from what I've seen transporn has a tendency to portray the transgendered community in a negative way that people who use the word 'tranny' might concede with. There's probably a better way to write that out but I just can't right now.

All that said I'd perhaps be a hypocrite if I didn't confess that transporn happens to turn me on, albeit with a fair amount of guilt as per knowledge of what I've described. In my defense, I'm pretty much unaware of transporn that isn't suspicious and as a generally morally consciencious person who at times more or less identifies with trans people I often feel like an incredibly niche market.

Exactly, multiple times in this thread I've seen personal insults which Freebase has justified because it's a thread for spilling guts. I don't recall seeing anywhere that personal insults in this thread are not against the rules. I think as a mod team we really need to stick to the rules that apply to everyone else.

Wow. You take my utilization of this thread as "how this place is being run". You wanna dial it back a bit? If you or anyone else has a problem with mods using this thread to be honest, negatively, let's start a vote. Please. Satisfy my knowledge that you already know how hypocritical that would be. Easier solution? Delete the thread. Problem solved. You guys can tell each other how much you love them all day every day in every thread. Not against the rules. I'm totally down for that. Say the word.

Or... you can vote for mods not being able to use the SYG thread. That's another solution so that you can still use it to congratulate people and be completely fake. Up to you. Your choice.
