Thing with the smileys is, I was very much against it in the beginning. I am a pretty big language freak so I didn't want to implement hem. But I kept running into trouble with people who didn't understand what I mean. I think it's almost become some sort of compulsion. I should add that I definitely use more smileys when I write in English. I think it's because I'm afraid to come over wrong or something like that. I don't do it in real life though (I did actually smile there . And again, dammit!). I am very curious about which albums I recommended you liked and disliked. My taste is rather broad so I might be able to advise you something that suits your taste better. I mean, your avatar tells me you have taste . I loved the huge smiley. I put it in my favourites for future uses. As far as the creepy friendliness goes: I only hear this from people on this forum, I also only hear the smileys thing on this forum. I'm not sure what causes all this but I can assure you that I'm not a creep in any way. I guess .

I'll list a few people.
Skaligojurah: He loves avant-prog/RIO which is great because it's a fantastic and interesting genre. He's a really intelligent poster, and I always enjoy having a conversation with him (especially when it comes to avant-garde musical suggestions). I still can't believe he is reviewing Sun Ra's entire discography, and I think that that in itself shows how much commitment he has to music and this forum. I can definitely say that he's one of my favorite people on this forum. It took me a while to spell out his name by memory instead of looking it up, though. Il Duce: He seems like a great guy to hang out with - even if he does have a fetish for Mussolini (). I definitely enjoy seeing the pictures he posts in the Member Picture Gallery thread, and I equally enjoy discussing music with him (he likes VU... enough said). I can also safely say that he is one of the most active posters out of us newbies and contributes a lot to the forum. Although, for someone who has "Metal is my narcosis" as his user title, I don't see him talk about metal very often (maybe that is just me). Djchameleon: While he and I might not share too much in common when it comes to hip hop, I can definitely say I have a lot of respect for him. Most of his posts that I read from him tend to be very thoughtful, which can be rare because sometimes people (like myself) just make short, meaningless posts. My first impression of him (which was just looking at his avatar) was that he would be another dumb womanizer. Let me say that being quick to judge others is never a wise thing to do, and I couldn't have been anymore wrong. I'll list a few others later... maybe a few mods (dun dun dun). |
