Why are people still using "he"?

I don't know the person but if she identifies as female you might want to reconsider your pronouns.

Out of curiosity, do all transsexuals like to be called by pronouns of the gender they identify as? I would assume so, but the world is a funny place full of six billion people who do every unexpected thing one can imagine.

I wouldn't want to speak on behalf of an entire group of people but I'd say that at least for the most part yes. Anyone who's at odds with their gender would probably prefer to be referred to as the gender they identify as

Because everybody knew of this person as a "he"

It's just been announced that "he" is now a "she". Humans normally take some time to adapt.
