Stop thinking up a response. Just stop. The forum cannot be all wars, soapbox mounting and gifs. We've all had enough of that, and the "remember when" posts it yields. Let's just pretend I never wrote this, and you never did these things, and maybe the next time you write something you can pretend like you give a **** about other people and the forums and make a post worthy of responding to.

Just go write a post for your journal. **** it, post a gif if that's all that's left in your arsenal, but stop coming to the lounge. And for christ sake go to the doctor, you look like your cholesterol's through the roof.

(side note: spelled cholesterol right on the first go...its a banner day for me.)

The ideas behind jargon like that are fine and dandy, but the attitude behind their use is generally insufferable. I'd rather be moderately insensitive than a miserable bastard nobody else wants to be around for fear of a boring, angry lecture.

Well that's what I mean. I think a lot of people get put off from putting effort into understanding what all that stuff means because most people who value it come across as total self-righteous pricks. Myself totally not excluded. I feel like a lot more people would be inclined to learn these things if the already-informed didn't make their knowledge out to be some sort of exclusive commodity.

No one's gonna give a **** if they're called a racist for saying something not widely understood to be racist if the people calling them out are just staking out a witch hunt. It doesn't help the cause, not at all.
