I'm a little late to respond but I feel compelled to do so since I offer a unique perspective compared to other forum members.

@Sansa/Junkyard - I have not personally witnessed what others are claiming you do on the forums. What I am getting from the responses here is that you start gender arguments at inappropriate times just for the sake of defending what you believe strongly in. If I am wrong please correct me.

I'm new here and I don't know you that well nor will I pretend I do. I am a 28 yr old straight male, actively involved in a fetish community and have a great deal of experience interacting with just about every gender identity (accepted and controversial). I have been to conventions, go to munches on occasion, am a member of Fetlife.com, and listen to many speeches.

Attacking people for being naive is not the way to get people to understand. Blaming people for not Googling something they didn't even know existed does not help them understand/accept.

If you really believe in what you are fighting for you need to be educating people in a non-assholish manner. If they treat you like **** or continue to judge and be insensitive towards the topic than by all means do whatever you normally do (I personally just stop debating and move along quietly). Acting like the religious zealots of gender identity does nothing but hurt the cause.

Guitar made some very good points, has a great attitude, and seems to be very considerate of others (based solely on the discussion in this thread). Getting people like him on your side is the first step to a broader societal acceptance of taboo gender identities.

If you don't care about the cause and just want to go around bashing others for not thinking like you or being naive than I know there is nothing I can say that will change your mind.

Wow reading comprehension seems like this board's second language.

Also no, I don't have to educate anyone on my existence, I'm not "fighting" for anything, I literally said one thing about being misgendered and was asked what my gender is.

And I'm quite sure you're an expert on the ~cause lmaooo. It's not a cause to me, it's my everyday life.

Either way, GB asked for more information and I provided, the two cents provided by some nobody is not needed.

I'm really tired of this gd discussion

DwnWthVwls 06-14-2014 06:17 PM

I didn't say I was an expert, I said I believe I am in a unique position as a heterosexual male who happens to be very aware of taboo gender identities and has a fair amount of experience/education. Obviously, you are going to know more. I got schooled very quickly when first entering the fetish scene. Gender identity education, tolerance, acceptance, whatever you want to label it, is very important.

And I understand it's your everyday life, but like I said as somebody new here I am kind of naive to what I see people randomly arguing about (can't always tell if it's genuine or joking). This is not the first thread I have browsed where a gender argument existed.

I said please correct me if I am wrong, which you obviously have no problem doing. Too bad it had to be in the wording of a 5th grade forum warrior. I don't know what you are getting so up in arms about with the insulting sarcasm and high horse.

Some people just can't explain themselves without being hostile. And before you get all pissy, when I say explain yourself I don't mean justify your beliefs. I mean translate your point of view to another person.

Sansa Stark 06-14-2014 06:21 PM

condescending to me isn't going to make me any more like to take you as a "heterosexual male" seriously. Maybe the stick up my ass is because I said already, I'm tired of this discussion as it clearly spiralled out of ****ing nothing

As I already said, resources were provided.

DwnWthVwls 06-14-2014 06:34 PM

I wasn't aware I was being condescending. I apologize if it came off that way. Not quite sure I understand the "heterosexual male" comment but whatever. And yes, the resources were provided, which is awesome, I never said anything about that.

I suppose this was more directed at Junkyard but since I saw you getting involved and mentioned in other threads I included your name in the @.

I have no desire in arguing or continuing on about this either. I don't use the forums to force feed my opinions on people. I say something once and leave it at that.

I remember talking to Steph about attitudes, and problems thereof.

During that, that you posted some links to a blog in response to a question I asked Steph, which was cool.

The entire rest of the time you just made snide, condescending posts yourself. You're the last person who gets to claim anyone else is condescending.

Sansa Stark 06-14-2014 06:38 PM

because literally everyone is talking about me right here and I said I'm tired of it now more than once

Referring to yourself in that manner kind of makes you sound like a twat lol, like if I hear someone say as a "cis male" or a "heterosexual" i just rollmy eyes because it's sooo obnoxious to hear on a regular basis. also please don't group gender identity in with the fetish scene as any gender variation in the most popular aspects of the scene are really offensive, such as sissification and such. That doesn't give you an accurate scope of gender identity in any sense of the word. Most gender play in the fetish scene is mostly given this aura of shame that really sets the non binary community back. I'm a dominatrix professionally so I know what you're talking about but yeah

You go on at length about how you don't care, treat people consistently like *******s, make a big deal about yourself constantly, and you have a problem with being the center of attention?

Hypocrisy, thy name is Sansa Stark.

Sansa Stark 06-14-2014 06:43 PM

I'm the best person I know, of course I make a big deal about myself. :)
