You do realise I like music other than Lady Gaga and have a journal to show what I like? Like you said, you don't talk to me much so how can you really know?

Count me in.

Jackhammer - seems like a genuinely nice, conscientious guy. Very mature in his outlook towards music and very respectful of other peoples opinions. I dig that a lot.

Right Track - Probably my favourite mod, always willing to help and from personal experience he is the one who has done the most for me on this site. Much appreciation.

These are the only two mods are really ever have any interaction with. The others i dont talk to enough to have any discernable opinion of.

Others...

Lucifer Sam - One of the few members i actively seek to keep up with in terms of musicbanter input. For me he has one of the best tastes in music on this site and everything i've read of his has either been thoughtful or sarcastically brutal, both of which i dig. Doesnt post much anymore which is a shame.

Molecules - Again, doesnt post enough, but i've had many a good discussion with him. Im grateful for the music he has introduced me to and he's always the first to provide an up if requested. Cool cat.

Musicphantom - No offence to newbs, but he is a minority in that he's a new member with something to say that catches a modicum of my interest. From what i've so far ascertained he has a taste very similiar to mine, and as a result we've had some really interesting discussions and recommendations.

Dac - I miss this guy, such a thirst for new music, i found it really refreshing to have somebody interested in listening to bands i posted, and in return i got some really cool recs from him too.

MojopinUK - I dont talk to him much, but im always interested in what he has to say. If i see a new post from him i tend to look into it as he always has something insighful to say. He also has a great taste in music.

Adidasss - I used to get on with him a lot more than i do now, maybe because of my sporadic inactivity, who knows. But one thing that hasnt changed is that for the most part he has something intelligent to say. I do think his tastes are a bit insular (i only ever notice his posts in the Indie forum), but he's obviously passionate about music and i like that.

GravitySlips - One of my favourite members. So knowledgable on some really great genres that i personally am into. I'd like to add he's a nice guy too, respectful and helpful; he's bestowed upon me some really good albums.

Swim - i really miss seeing this girl posting. Puts my knowledge to shame. She struck me as being very open-minded, which i think any real music fan should be. There just arent enough posters like this about anymore.

Urban, I am actually not a militant sprout muncher. I am a militant *bean* muncher. And I certainly am madder than a box of frogs (who I assume are still alive)...much madder, actually, although I try to convert my anger into positive action.

I am angry like the 800 million people on the planet who are malnourished while half of the world's grain and 1/3rd of the fish "harvest" are used to feed livestock raised primarily for the wealthy.

I am distressed like Rajendra K. Pachauri, the head of the Nobel Prize-winning U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which pleads (with little impact) for people to reduce their meat consumption to combat global warming, since the livestock industry produces more greenhouse gasses than all the world's transportation machines.

I am horrified and hurt like the baby piglets bashed by people against the concrete because the piglets are runts or are ill; the mother pigs going crazy in their factory farming stalls; the veal calves killed after several weeks of confined life so that people can enjoy ice cream; the millions of poultry raised in conditions that kill many of them and who, if they survive, suffer during slaughter; the asphyxiating, flesh-torn fish and marine mammals caught...many as "bycatch"...while humans decimate ocean ecosystems; the billions of animals whose one chance to live is snuffed out when they are adolescents because humans simply like how they *taste*.

And I'm saddened that so few people are encouraged to learn more about the realities of the impact of their food choices (on the world and on their own health). This results partly from the hold that the livestock industry has on governmental nutrition guidelines...and, sadly, on environmental policies, which allow the livestock industry to externalize the environmental and health harms it causes such that the general public pays for them. This allows the price of animal products to remain very low as the livestock industry profits at the expense of people and other animals.

So, I am indeed much more upset than a box of frogs. I wouldn't say I'm crazy, though, unless "crazy" means being "well-informed" and "concerned for others, especially those who are marginalized."

Yes, LoathsomePete, that was one of my MB disasters. I learned that my attempts to be playful with Freebase Dali just annoyed him...although when I PM'd Freebase to see if an apology was due because of my analysis of his "Placeholder Trilogy," he said, no, there was no need to apologize--he thought the thread had turned into a dysfunctional community artwork and was inspirational. On the positive side, I learned from this experience that Neapolitan and I appear to have a similar sense of humor.

Now, here is my opinion of Neapolitan:

I feel Neapolitan is a respectful, thoughtful, and kind person who has a strong spiritual side and a delightfully funny, quirky sense of humor. We are both Monty Python fans. I feel his sense of humor is unappreciated here. I am probably one of his biggest fans on MB and have in fact written a song for him (I assume he is a him) because I enjoy his way with words...but I think he is quite shy and so I have not posted the song lyrics yet. I am frequently impressed by Neapolitan. I find him to be charming. I have never seen Neapolitan lash out at anyone. He responds with grace and assertiveness to people who attack him. Neapolitan has been helpful to me in private messages as we discussed music, which I appreciated. He loves puns and finding unobvious connections among ideas and words (such as the connection between the Fibonacci numbers and my "Placeholder Trilogy" analysis of Freebase Dali's non-poem) which amuses me greatly. I think of Neapolitan as a gentle soul. I would jump into more of his lounge conversations (such as about religion), but I don't want him to feel stalked. When I see him writing a playful post, though, I do try to take the ball and run with it. For me, Neapolitan embodies the "playfulness" of MB that I seek out and enjoy immensely.
